The course aims to introduce fundamental concepts, issues of natural languages and the field of linguistics. Topics cover main subfields of linguistics (e.g., phonet- ics, phonology, syntax, and semantics) and also extend to other applied fields, such as psycholinguistic research and language acquisition. Students are encouraged to make connections between their own experience and specialties with the course content. Elaboration on the final projects are particularly welcome.

No pre-requisite is required. Students with any background are all welcome.
